Bad Day? Hit the Gym!

Today was rubbish. Seriously! I’m sure all of us have those days where everything that possible can go wrong, goes wrong. We spill our morning coffee on a white shirt, we have an argument with someone, we mess up at work and then someone almost runs us down by a bike. My day was similar. A few sessions were cancelled, I had an argument with my partner, my schedule went bananas and I had to run plenty of errands having no time for anything and I was in a very bad mood in general. Plus, my cat Gandalf bit me (how rude!). I really didn’t feel like doing anything, but I decided not to skip gym anyway.

A few deadlifts, some cleans, front squats and a short run after…. Voila! I feel like myself again! Not only that exercise releases endorphins, which sets everything (well not literally, but ya-know-what-I-mean) in place, but also the thought that I did something just for myself while the whole world is waiting, and the fact of an accomplishment of not giving up and not letting my mood ruin my plans and control me, made a great difference. I was tired, but very happy and the stress levels went down again.

 

When you’re feeling down, hit the gym, walk to the park, do something! You’re only one workout away from a good mood!
